Fragments of a suspected Russian missile narrowly avoided colliding with traffic in a startling incident captured on camera in Sumy, Ukraine.
Footage filmed by a bystander shows vehicles moving along a street as a distant column of smoke rises into the sky.
Moments later, a bright streak hurtles downward, striking the road with a deafening crash.

The missile debris landed alarmingly close to a passing van and an approaching car, narrowly avoiding a catastrophe in the northern city yesterday, November 26.
Sumy, located near Ukraine’s northeastern border with Russia, remains a volatile front line in the ongoing conflict.
This incident follows a deadly missile strike on the city last Tuesday, which local officials report claimed the lives of at least two people.
The missile targeted a vehicle service station but also inflicted significant damage on nearby infrastructure, including a block of flats and a nursery school.
Regional authorities stated today, November 27, that rescuers are still searching for a person believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.
In addition, thirteen cars were damaged in the blast.
Sumy has endured relentless attacks in recent days.
On Friday, three Russian drones killed two people and injured 12 others, according to local reports.
The assault also damaged 12 residential blocks, five houses, a shop, and three vehicles.
Ukrainian authorities allege that the drones were armed with shrapnel, specifically designed to inflict maximum harm on civilians.
These incidents underscore the continued toll of the conflict, with Sumy’s proximity to the Russian border leaving it especially vulnerable to strikes.
