A petrol station worker in Brazil was dragged by a car as a driver tried to flee without paying—before crashing into an SUV. Shocking CCTV footage captures it all!

A petrol station worker in Manhuaçu, Brazil, narrowly escaped injury after being dragged along by a driver attempting to flee without paying.

CCTV footage captures the harrowing moment when the uniformed attendant stood beside the vehicle as the driver shut the door.

As the car suddenly pulled away, the worker instinctively threw his arms and head through the open window in an attempt to stop the escape.

The driver accelerated onto a busy road, nearly crushing the attendant against a passing lorry.

In a desperate effort to avoid serious injury, the worker lifted his legs off the ground while being dragged along the street.

The vehicle then sped out of view, with the footage cutting off before the final outcome was revealed.

The dramatic chase came to an end when the car crashed into a larger vehicle later that afternoon on 19 February, leaving its front end crumpled.

Local reports state that suspicions were first raised when the driver claimed he had forgotten his wallet.

A petrol station employee then recognised him as someone who had previously driven off without paying.

When the staff attempted to call the police, the man tried to make another escape.

The brave worker seen in the footage latched onto the moving car in a desperate attempt to stop the thief, according to reports from vknews24.

It remains unclear whether he was still clinging to the vehicle at the moment of impact.

Fortunately, paramedics who arrived at the crash site confirmed that the attendant had escaped unharmed, despite being dragged along the road for several yards.

The driver was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody.
