Thanks to the department’s equipment, which includes two differently sized oxygen masks, the firefighters could cater to pets of various sizes.

Walsh, a member of North Port Fire and Rescue, shared, “We used the smaller mask for the cat.

By placing the cat’s face into the mask, we provided a steady flow of oxygen, replacing the smoke-filled air it had been breathing.”

The dramatic rescue, which was reported by vknews24, left the homeowner overcome with emotion.

Chief Dave Ingalls explained, “All of our vehicles carry these devices in two sizes to ensure a proper fit for pets.

We’ve been using them for about 10 years, and they’ve proven to be invaluable.”

This touching rescue highlights the lifesaving capabilities of firefighters not just for humans but for beloved animals as well, ensuring every member of a household, furry or otherwise, gets a fighting chance in an emergency.
