A well-known bodybuilder and social media influencer was mysteriously shot and killed while out for his routine morning walk, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Emergency services were called after passersby discovered a man lying lifeless outside a shopping center.

Authorities quickly identified the victim as Adalberto Peña Urquidez—known online as “Adal Peña” or “El Tata”—a fitness influencer with a dedicated following.

The 42-year-old, dressed in sportswear, was found on his back, surrounded by spent bullet casings.

Reports indicate he was shot multiple times in the body and head, likely dying instantly.

Police sealed off the area before removing his body from the scene in Culiacán, a city in western Mexico.

Peña had reportedly just left his home on the morning of January 23 when he was targeted.

The motive behind the killing remains unclear, and authorities have yet to identify any suspects.

Peña had built a significant online presence, amassing 172,800 TikTok followers and 19,300 on Instagram, where he frequently shared intense workout routines and personal moments with his family.

His death is the latest in a troubling pattern of influencer murders in Mexico’s Sinaloa state, an area known for high crime rates and organized criminal activity.

Just weeks earlier, on January 10, 22-year-old YouTuber Agustín Paul, also known as “El Pinky,” was found dead on a road in Culiacán, his hands and feet bound.

In December, content creator Leobardo Aispuro Soto, or “El Gordo Peruci,” was gunned down while returning home with his wife.

A month before that, influencer Jesús Miguel Vivanco García, 29, was murdered in Costa Rica, another town in the region.

Sinaloa remains one of Mexico’s most dangerous states, with violent crime deeply entrenched due to the presence of powerful criminal organizations.

While authorities continue to investigate Peña’s killing, his death adds to growing concerns over the targeting of social media figures in the area.
