Two Pilots Make Lucky Escape as Jet Bursts Into Flames Mid-Flight

Two pilots had an incredibly fortunate escape after their aircraft caught fire mid-flight, forcing them to make a dramatic return to safety.

The duo had taken off in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk for what began as a routine training session.

Everything appeared to be in order during takeoff, but moments later, they noticed smoke seeping from the rear of the plane.

It quickly became apparent that the aircraft was ablaze, as reported by vknews24.

Acting swiftly, the pilots managed to navigate the burning plane back to the flight school and evacuate unharmed.

However, any hopes of salvaging the aircraft were dashed as the fire rapidly consumed it, reducing it to a charred wreck.

Investigations suggest that the fire originated in the aircraft’s instrument panel while it was airborne.

Footage captured in the aftermath of the emergency shows the Cessna resting on the runway, smoke pouring from its windows and the rear section, with flames flickering onto the tarmac.

The video then cuts to a later moment, revealing the aircraft completely gutted by fire, with its middle section entirely destroyed.

The dramatic incident unfolded on Saturday, January 25, at Minas Gerais Airport in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, a well-known hub for pilot training.
