Celebrating 70 Years of Magic: Disneyland’s Anniversary and Beyond

Disneyland, the original Anaheim park, is gearing up for a grand celebration of its 70th anniversary, kicking off on May 16, 2025, and extending through summer 2026. The theme, "Celebrate Happy," promises an array of new events, including a vibrant Mickey and Friends cavalcade featuring Duffy and ShellieMay, projection shows at It’s a Small World and Carthay Circle, and the World of Color Happiness show hosted by Joy from Inside Out. The esplanade will boast a 50-foot Sleeping Beauty Castle sculpture, complemented by decorations across Downtown Disney, Main Street USA, and Disney hotels. The anniversary will also introduce exclusive exhibits showcasing Disneyland’s history, including Walt Disney’s personal artifacts, and debut an audio-animatronic Walt Disney in the Opera House.

Avengers Campus Expansion: New Rides and Adventures

Disney’s California Adventure is set to expand its Avengers Campus with two new Marvel attractions, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Avengers Infinity Defense will take guests on a multiverse journey through Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City, battling King Thanos. Stark Flight Lab offers a thrilling two-person pod experience with Iron Man. Construction begins this year, inviting Marvel fans to immerse themselves in these new adventures within the expanded campus.

Pixar’s Cars and Monsters Inc.: Themed Expansions

Magic Kingdom is transforming Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island into a Cars-themed rally race area, complemented by a second attraction. In Hollywood Studios, a Monsters Inc.-themed land will replace the Muppets area with a suspended roller coaster, ‘laugh factory’ ride, and Monstropolis exploration, starting construction in 2025.

Disney Cruise Line and Other Exciting Updates

The Disney Cruise Line is expanding with four new ships between 2027 and 2031. Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand USA will become Tropical Americas, featuring Indiana Jones and Encanto rides. Additionally, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Zootopia shows, new lounges, and parade updates promise fresh experiences across Disney parks, ensuring ongoing enchantment for visitors of all ages.
