In the midst of chaos, Shyama discovered the University of the People (UoPeople), a tuition-free, online institution offering courses in English and Arabic. A turning point came when Shyama found Taqat, a workspace with internet and solar power. Volunteering led to a role as a Project Manager, while she continued her studies. IUG’s resumption of online classes allowed her to pursue degrees at both institutions. Despite returning to a destroyed home, Shyama’s journey from displacement to professional growth underscores the transformative power of perseverance and the support of educational resources.
