Senior district police officer Rana Dilawar confirmed that the train remains stranded in a tunnel, with some militants holding a group of around 35 hostages in the mountains while others continue to occupy the locomotive. Initial reports suggested that over 300 passengers were safe, but authorities later clarified that 104 people had been rescued so far.
