A suspected leopard’s den filled with sheep bones has been discovered in the British countryside, sparking fears of a big cat lurking in the area.
Big cat enthusiast Darren Tinsley made the unsettling find in an abandoned metal pipe while exploring the rural outskirts of Frodsham, near Runcorn, Cheshire. Inside the pipe, he stumbled upon several half-eaten sheep carcasses, with more remains scattered nearby.

Tinsley, 42, noted that the skin had been peeled back from the bodies, and the bones were completely stripped of flesh, leading him to believe a large predator, such as a leopard or puma, could be responsible.

“They all looked like they had been savaged,” Tinsley explained. “It looked like a big cat had torn the skin back and eaten the insides first.
The skin was licked clean, just like you’d expect from a large predator.” He described the pipe and surrounding trees as ideal hiding spots for a predator to hunt and feed undetected.
Tinsley, who has been tracking big cat sightings for nearly three decades, says he has personally witnessed five potential encounters with large cats since 1997.
His most memorable sighting came in 2014 when he saw one up close, just meters away. “That confirmed it for me. I knew what I had seen was real,” he told VKNews24.
Despite not seeing another since 2016, his passion for uncovering evidence of these elusive creatures has only grown. “I’ve been obsessed ever since,” he said.
The discovery has stirred local curiosity and reignited debates about whether big cats are roaming the British countryside.
