Brittany Cartwright Dives Deep on Jax Taylor Cocaine Addiction on Podcast 2

Brittany Cartwright Opens Up About Jax Taylor’s Cocaine Addiction and Their Troubled Relationship

Brittany Cartwright, the ex-wife of Jax Taylor, has spoken candidly about Jax’s cocaine addiction and the emotional turmoil it brought into their relationship during a recent episode of their podcast, When Reality Hits. In a deeply personal and emotional conversation, Cartwright, 36, shared her perspective on Jax’s struggles with addiction and how it impacted their family life, including their 3-year-old son, Cruz. She expressed her unwavering support for Jax’s recovery but also criticized his motives for seeking help, claiming that his decision to go to rehab was not solely driven by a desire to be a better father or partner. Instead, she believes his primary motivation was the fear of losing his job. “No one wants Jax to be better more than I do,” she said, emphasizing the love she once shared with him and her efforts to help him overcome his addiction over the years.

Jax Taylor’s Admission and Brittany’s Response

Jax Taylor, 45, recently opened up about his cocaine addiction during an interview on the Hot Mic podcast, hosted by Alex Baskin. He revealed that he has been struggling with substance abuse, primarily cocaine, since he was 23 and has been working on his recovery. Taylor shared that he has been sober for 83 days, the longest stretch of his life without substances, and credited his decision to quit both cocaine and alcohol for his progress. While Taylor framed his journey as a step toward becoming a better person and a father Cruz can be proud of, Brittany expressed skepticism about the sincerity of his transformation. In a statement to People, she acknowledged his admission as a positive step but highlighted the trauma his addiction has caused their family and questioned his commitment to change. “I’ve tried desperately to help him without success,” she said, adding that she remains doubtful about his recovery despite his claims of progress.

The Incident That Led to Jax’s Rehab

Brittany provided a detailed account of an incident that Jax has cited as a turning point in his decision to seek help. According to Jax, seeing Cruz in the backseat of the car during a heated argument between the two was the moment he realized he needed to change. However, Brittany painted a different picture of that day. She recalled being yelled at by Jax during the car ride to a doctor’s appointment for Cruz, which escalated when a text from another man appeared on her phone. She described how Jax became irate, tried to grab her phone, and made derogatory comments in front of their son. “That alone is horrible,” she said, emphasizing the reality of Jax’s behavior and the emotional toll it took on her. Brittany made it clear that Jax’s decision to go to rehab was not driven by a moment of clarity or love for their family but rather by the fear of losing his career and public image.

Brittany Defends Her Decision to Speak Out

Following Jax’s admission, Brittany faced questions about why she stayed in the relationship for so long despite his addiction. In an Instagram post, she defended her decision, explaining that she couldn’t help who she fell in love with and that she had done everything in her power to help Jax overcome
