Tracy Morgan Suffers Health Scare at New York Knicks Game

Concerning Incident at Madison Square Garden
Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan, 56, experienced a worrying health incident while attending a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on Monday, March 17. Footage shared online showed Morgan being wheeled out of the arena, covering his face with a towel. When he briefly lifted the towel, blood was visible, indicating he was bleeding from his nose. A fan who witnessed the incident shared their concerns on social media, stating that Morgan appeared unsteady on his feet.

The incident temporarily halted the Knicks’ game against the Miami Heat, causing a 10-minute delay. Madison Square Garden representatives expressed their concern for Morgan’s well-being, issuing a statement that read, "We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside." Morgan’s representatives have yet to comment on the situation.

A History of Health Challenges
This is not the first time Tracy Morgan has faced significant health issues. In 1996, he was diagnosed with diabetes, which has required ongoing management throughout his life. In 2010, his health struggles escalated further when he underwent a kidney transplant. More recently, Morgan has been open about his use of Ozempic, a medication primarily prescribed for type 2 diabetes that also aids in weight loss.

Morgan has discussed his health regimen, including his use of Ozempic and a regular exercise routine, in various interviews. He revealed on the Today show in August 2023 that the medication helps suppress his appetite, allowing him to maintain a healthier lifestyle. However, he also humorously admitted during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March 2025 that he had gained 40 pounds, jokingly comparing himself to basketball legend Magic Johnson.

Resilience in the Face of Adversity
Tracy Morgan’s health challenges have not slowed his career, as he continues to work on new projects. In June 2014, he was involved in a devastating car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike that claimed the life of his close friend and fellow comedian, James "Jimmy Mack" McNair. Morgan himself suffered serious injuries, including a broken leg, nose, femur, and ribs, and spent 10 days in intensive care.

In the years following the accident, Morgan has shown remarkable resilience. In 2017, he shared an update on his health at a Television Critics Association event, stating, "I’m doing fine. I don’t know how I’m going to be feeling tomorrow, but that’s none of my business. I know what I feel right now, and I feel great. I feel fine." This positive outlook has been a hallmark of his recovery and continued success in the entertainment industry.

Looking Ahead to New Projects
Despite the recent health scare, Tracy Morgan remains active in his career. Earlier this month, it was announced that he will be reunited with his former 30 Rock collaborator, Tina Fey, for a new comedy series about a disgraced former football player aiming to rehabilitate his image. Additionally, Morgan is set to star in a Paramount+ comedy series titled Crutch, which is scheduled to premiere later this year.

Tracy Morgan’s ability to bounce back from personal and professional challenges is a testament to his strength and determination. As fans await updates on his condition following the recent incident, they also look forward to seeing him in these upcoming projects, reminded of his enduring talent and resilience.
