A quick-thinking mother used her pit bull to fend off three thieves who attacked her family in a terrifying incident captured on CCTV.
Her husband, a taxi driver, had just returned home after running errands.
The woman exited the car first to unlock the gate to their home when she turned to witness two assailants attacking her family across the street.

Initially paralyzed by fear, she darted inside the house as the scene unfolded.
Outside, her husband was being assaulted by two men, while a third climbed into the driver’s seat of his taxi.
The attackers demanded the car keys, but the cabbie refused, knowing his child was secured in the back seat.
Moments later, the mother re-emerged, now accompanied by the family’s pit bull.
Without hesitation, she unleashed the muscular dog on the assailants.
The sudden appearance of the canine caused one man to flee to the opposite side of the car while another scrambled out of the driver’s seat.
The dog pursued one of the thieves, prompting all three to abandon their efforts and run down the street.
The family quickly attended to their distressed child, who was unharmed but shaken.
The dramatic escape took place in the Penha District of São Paulo, Brazil, around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 15.
According to authorities, the suspects managed to steal only a bag containing documents and two mobile phones before fleeing. The investigation remains ongoing.
Penha District, like much of São Paulo, has seen a troubling rise in crime.
Data from the National Secretariat of Public Security indicates the area experiences an average of 11 burglaries and 11 thefts daily, leaving residents increasingly on edge.
Local administrator Suzana Alves expressed the community’s deep concern, saying, “We are afraid 24 hours a day.
There are no more set times; robberies even happen in broad daylight. We’re considering moving, but it’s not simple—figuring out where to go and what to do with our apartment is a challenge.”
Engineer Irlan Montes, who has been robbed twice this year, described the common tactics used by criminals in the area.
“It’s always the same—at gunpoint by two guys on a motorbike. They point at your head, demand everything, and take off.”
The incident highlights the dire security challenges faced by residents, as well as the extraordinary lengths some are forced to go to protect their loved ones.
