A Palestinian man was tragically killed when a missile fuselage struck him while he stood in the street during Iran’s missile attack on Israel on October 1.
The victim, 37-year-old Samih Asali, originally from Gaza but living in Jericho, was caught in the shocking incident, which was captured on video.

One clip shows Asali standing under a streetlight at night before stepping into the street. Just as he begins to cross, the missile fuselage plummets from the sky, striking him and sending his body several feet.
Another video shows locals covering his face with a towel after the tragic event. The fuselage had fallen after being intercepted by Israel’s defense systems, landing in the area north of Nu’eima and Jericho in the West Bank.
Although initial reports suggested he was Jordanian, it was later confirmed that Asali was a Palestinian citizen. He was the only reported casualty from the missile strike.
Iran’s missile attack, involving around 180 rockets, targeted Israel, with most of the projectiles intercepted by Israel’s aerial defense systems.
However, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that 90% of their missiles hit their intended targets, including three Israeli military bases.
Israeli officials, though, maintain that most rockets were successfully blocked and have since stated that the immediate threat seems to have subsided.
The missile barrage followed the deaths of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoshan, who were killed on September 27.
In response to the missile strike, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that there would be consequences. The extent of the damage from the attack is currently being assessed.
