Looters opportunistically ransacked a lorry filled with beer after it collided with a tanker truck, spilling petrol across the road and creating hazardous conditions.
The crash, which occurred in the afternoon in San Jacinto, southeast of La Paz, Bolivia, resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, as seen in video footage from the chaotic scene.

A crowd, predominantly male, quickly gathered at the site, turning what could have been a moment for caution into a frenzy of opportunism.
As the person filming zoomed in, the scene grew even more surreal, revealing individuals scrambling to grab boxes of beer from the lorry’s exposed cargo.
At one point, a box was tossed from the vehicle and caught by an eager bystander, while others raised their hands in anticipation of more.
One man could be seen sprinting from the crash site, his arms overflowing with loot.
Despite the clear danger posed by the spilled fuel, which heightened the risk of fire, the looters remained undeterred.
The chaos unfolded while authorities attempted to manage the situation and attend to any potential injuries.
An urgent call was made for bystanders to evacuate the area and refrain from looting, but the appeal went largely ignored.
Officials later confirmed they are investigating the causes of the collision and assessing the damage.
The incident underscores the need for heightened safety measures in the aftermath of traffic accidents, particularly when hazardous materials are involved.
