A yacht found itself stranded on a beach in Cornwall after the skipper apparently made a “wrong turn,” according to reports.
The incident occurred on Polzeath beach, near Padstow, on Tuesday, October 29.
The Polzeath Coastguard reported that when they arrived at the scene, they discovered the sizable yacht grounded in the surf.

“Three team members donned dry suits and entered the water to assist the captain,” a Coastguard spokesperson said.
The coastguard noted that two lifeboats were also present just beyond the surf to ensure safety.
To maintain order, coastguard officers managed crowd control, keeping onlookers at a safe distance while the rescue unfolded.
According to VKNews24, the yacht’s skipper eventually made his way back to shore by wading through the water.
Local resident Bill Bartlett told Cornwall Live that he overheard the skipper admitting to having taken a wrong turn, which led to the vessel’s unexpected arrival on the beach.
