A taxi driver in Cape Town, South Africa, was pepper-sprayed and brutally attacked by a group of passengers before being robbed, as captured on dash cam footage.
The shocking video shows the driver transporting four male passengers when the man in the front seat suddenly pulls the handbrake, while the others assault the driver, striking him on the head and restraining him.

One of the men then exits the vehicle, opens the driver’s door, and pepper sprays him as the driver desperately tries to shield his face.
The attackers grabbed the driver’s phone before fleeing the scene, according to a report by VKNews24.
The incident has sparked concern among locals, with many suggesting taxi drivers avoid taking more than two passengers at once to reduce the risk of such attacks.
“Because of a phone? Thank God he’s alive,” one person commented.
While another remarked, “I understand now why some Uber drivers cancel trips if they see three or more guys getting in.”
Other reactions highlighted the unnecessary violence, with one individual noting, “Spraying him was so extra. Buddy already gave up,”
while another added, “All that for a cellphone?”
The video has fueled discussions around safety measures for taxi and ride-share drivers, especially when dealing with larger groups of passengers.
