Exyte, a global leader in high-tech facility design and engineering, has finalised its acquisition of Kinetics Group, a renowned provider of installation services and technical facility management. The deal, initially announced in April, officially closed on 15 October 2024, after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals.
Kinetics, which operates in sectors such as biopharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and advanced technology, has an extensive presence in key markets across Asia, Europe, and North America. The acquisition is seen as a strategic move by Exyte to expand its service offerings and strengthen its position within the global high-tech facilities market.
Dr Wolfgang Büchele, CEO of Exyte, welcomed the acquisition, saying, “The acquisition of Kinetics marks a significant milestone in our strategic growth. By integrating Kinetics’ expertise, we are not only enhancing our capabilities but also broadening our range of services for clients in high-tech industries. This deal allows us to take advantage of the increasing demand for high-tech facilities worldwide and provides opportunities for further innovation.”
One of the key benefits of the acquisition is Exyte’s entry into the field of technical facility management, an area in which Kinetics has excelled. This new service area enables Exyte to maintain long-term client relationships beyond the design and construction phases, offering ongoing operational support. This development is expected to create additional revenue streams and improve client retention.
Peter Maris, CEO of Kinetics, expressed optimism about the partnership, noting, “Joining Exyte is an exciting step for Kinetics. This partnership brings together two industry leaders, allowing us to leverage our combined expertise to deliver even more innovative solutions for our global clients. We are committed to sustained growth and operational excellence, and with Exyte’s backing, we are in an even stronger position to meet the challenges of tomorrow.”
Kinetics will now operate within Exyte’s Technology & Services division, a business area that focuses on providing cleanroom technology, installation services, and off-site manufacturing (OSM) solutions. This division is expected to play a critical role in Exyte’s ambitious growth plans, which include a target to reach €10 billion in sales by 2027 as part of its “Pathway to Ten” strategy.
The acquisition also strengthens Exyte’s global reach, particularly in the rapidly growing biopharma and semiconductor markets. With major facilities across three continents, the combined companies are well-positioned to capitalise on the increasing demand for high-tech facility solutions driven by technological advancements and industrial growth.
Exyte has built a reputation for designing and delivering complex facilities for industries that require stringent environmental controls, such as cleanrooms and laboratories. With the addition of Kinetics’ capabilities, the company can now provide end-to-end services, from initial design and engineering to facility management, making it a comprehensive solutions provider for its clients.
The acquisition of Kinetics not only enhances Exyte’s portfolio but also reinforces its competitive edge in the global high-tech sector. The combined company will continue to focus on innovation, delivering state-of-the-art facilities and services to clients across a wide range of high-tech industries.
