A possible big cat sighting has stirred fear in a rural community after a farmer stumbled upon a deer’s mutilated remains, raising concerns of a predator on the loose.
The shocking discovery was made near Bradford-on-Avon, located southwest of Chippenham in Wiltshire, leaving locals speculating about the culprit.
Farmer Jimmy Adams, who found the carcass during a routine check of his land on January 9, described the scene as unlike anything he had witnessed in years of farming.

The deer’s skin and fur were torn apart, its internal organs devoured, and the ribs stripped clean.
Remarkably, the animal had not been there the previous evening, suggesting the kill occurred overnight.
Jimmy, still reeling from the grim find, shared his thoughts with vknews24.
“As a farmer, I’m no stranger to seeing dead animals, but this was completely different.
The short timeframe between the kill and when I found it is troubling.
I’ve since been in touch with big cat experts who are convinced this was the work of a big cat.”
The discovery has sparked debate among locals and wildlife enthusiasts, many of whom are convinced that a large feline predator, potentially a panther or similar species, is responsible.
Observers have pointed out details consistent with big cat behavior, fueling speculation.
Arne Wicks, a member of the public familiar with big cat predation, commented, “The way the skin is peeled back, the organs removed, and the ribs cleaned is exactly how big cats process their prey.”
Another observer, Mike Duberry, highlighted additional telltale signs.
“One ear is missing, the tongue is hanging out—both indicators of suffocation.
The organs have been consumed neatly, and all of this happened within a very short timeframe.
These are classic signs of a big cat kill.”
Others echoed these observations, with Harold simply stating, “This looks like a cat kill,” while Liam Widdington noted, “Whatever did this was incredibly precise—it’s very clean.”
The discovery has reignited discussions about the presence of big cats in the UK countryside, a controversial topic often surrounded by anecdotal reports and unconfirmed sightings.
As authorities and experts weigh in, locals remain on high alert, cautious about what—or who—might be lurking nearby.
