Shoppers watched in shock as a car smashed into a Sports Direct in Bath before crashing into a bus. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene—here’s what happened.

A chaotic crash in the heart of Bath left shoppers in shock as a silver Toyota Prius plowed into the front of a Sports Direct store before colliding with a bus in a dramatic chain of events.

The vehicle unexpectedly reversed over the pavement, slamming into the storefront, before accelerating away from the wreckage, clipping a blue Mini in the process.

The driver then narrowly avoided hitting another parked car, only to mount the pavement and crash into the rear of a stationary blue double-decker bus.

The incident, which took place on Friday, January 17, was captured on a mobile phone by a stunned onlooker in a 44-second clip.

As the chaos unfolded, a man could be heard shouting at pedestrians to “keep away” and urging them to take cover inside a building.

Emergency services rushed to Westgate Buildings just after 2 p.m., with officers from Avon and Somerset Police attending the scene alongside paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service.

One man was taken to the hospital, though authorities confirmed he did not suffer serious injuries.
