His brother Eugene shared a heartfelt tribute, expressing the immense grief the family is enduring.
“Never in a million years would I think this would happen to my beautiful big brother Tommy Joe,” he said.
“I know in my heart you’re with my dad and brother Brian.
May God give you the best bed in heaven, my T.J.”
Eugene continued with a poignant message of faith and hope, saying, “No matter the place or realm, we will all be together one day till the trumpets blow and we all stand together again.
I love you from the bottom of my heart, my brother Tommy Joe Jenkins. Rest easy, our three kings.”
In a statement, Tommy’s family described him as a beloved son, husband, brother, and father who had an indelible impact on his community.
“Tommy Joe was a loving son, husband, brother, and dad,” they said.
“He was well known within his community, loved and liked by everybody, who lived life to the fullest.
Losing Tommy Joe is such a massive shock and loss to his family and throughout his community, whose hearts will never be healed again.”
They added, “He was a family man who loved and lived for his family, his children being his pride and joy.
Gone but never forgotten, forever and always in our hearts, Tommy Joe Jenkins, known as the man of men.”
The crash has left both the family and the wider community in mourning.
Tommy and his family lived in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, but his ties to Burnley were evident in the outpouring of grief from locals.
Lancashire Police have launched an investigation into the accident and are appealing for any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
“Officers investigating the cause of the collision are continuing to appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage from the area,” a spokesperson said.
“If you can help, please contact 101, quoting log 1457 of 11th December 2024, or email our Serious Collision Investigation Unit at SCIU@lancashire.police.uk.”
The devastating incident has brought heartbreak to a close-knit family and community, leaving an enduring void in the lives of those who knew and loved Tommy.
