Man Has Phone Snatched by E-Bike Thief on Upscale Street in Capital
A thief on an e-bike snatched a man’s phone in London’s upscale Piccadilly. Caught on dash cam, the brazen theft highlights the city’s soaring phone crime rates.

A man was left shaken after a thief on an electric bike snatched his phone while he walked along an upscale street in central London.
Two men, dressed entirely in black, were seen zipping through the bustling Piccadilly area in Kensington on Saturday evening (March 8).
One of them veered onto the pavement near the Hard Rock Café, while the other remained on the road.

The unsuspecting victim was walking past a bus stop outside the Coya Mayfair restaurant when one of the riders swooped in, grabbed his phone from his hand, and sped away.
Stunned by what had just happened, he rushed into the high-end eatery in shock.
The entire incident was caught on the dash cam of a passing vehicle and unfolded as fresh data from the Home Office underscored the scale of phone thefts in the capital.
Statistics released on Sunday (March 10) revealed that, on average, a mobile phone was stolen every seven and a half minutes in London last year.
A staggering 70,137 devices were reported stolen in 2024 alone.
The footage of the latest incident has left Londoners outraged, with many expressing frustration over the rising crime rates.

Andre Mostert vented his anger, saying: “It’s shocking to see this happening more and more.
There are no consequences, and it’s only going to continue.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve watched safety decline—it’s disappointing because I moved here for a safer environment.”
Jenny Reader echoed the concerns, warning: “Never have your phone on display in London—or anywhere else, for that matter.”

Meanwhile, Chris Gipson took a different approach, proudly sharing: “I took down one of these scumbags with a road cone the other day.
One of the most satisfying things I’ve done in a while.”
The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for comment.
