Two men on a moped snatch a man's phone in broad daylight, caught on a helmet cam in Walthamstow. The daring theft highlights a growing trend of street robberies in London.

An unsuspecting pedestrian had his phone snatched by two men riding a moped while he was walking along the street.

The bold and alarming incident was caught on camera by a motorcyclist traveling just behind the scene, with footage recorded from their helmet cam.

In the video, the moped is seen speeding along a quiet residential road. The driver, dressed entirely in black, is accompanied by a passenger wearing grey clothing and notably without a helmet.

Suddenly, the moped swerves to the left as the duo spot their target—a man wearing a red top and shorts.

Without hesitation, the moped, which bears L-plates, mounts the pavement as the pair stealthily approach from behind.

The passenger reaches out and snatches the phone from the unsuspecting victim’s hand before the moped speeds away. The man tries to chase after them briefly, but his attempts are in vain.

Meanwhile, the motorcyclist who recorded the footage continues up Forest Road in Walthamstow, East London.

The moped makes a U-turn further down the street, lined with terraced houses and small shops, and retraces its path.

The clip, which lasts 32 seconds, ends abruptly after capturing the incident. It took place just after 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, according to reports from VKNews24.

Local resident Shaun Jackson commented on the video, saying: “And he does nothing. For f*cks sake.”

Another person, identified as Michael, suggested: “Follow them.”

However, a third individual, Dominic Brant, warned: “Get involved, get hurt. Not worth it over someone else’s phone.”

A fourth added: “Everyone in London should buy phone tethers. It prevents this from happening.”

Sathursan Sharvaswaran expressed his surprise, saying: “I thought this happens in central London, but didn’t expect it as far as Walthamstow.”

This incident is just the latest in a series of similar crimes, where thieves have been using electric bikes to commit robberies across central London.

The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment.
