A pet shop in Salford, Manchester, has been left devastated after their Christmas tree, a centerpiece of festive joy, was stolen.
The tree, a kind donation from the RSPCA, was part of a holiday display designed to spread cheer in the Pets at Home store.
However, the seasonal spirit was dampened when thieves made off with the festive decoration, leaving staff and supporters heartbroken.

In a heartfelt post, they wrote, “The Grinch has struck. Each year, we put together a Christmas-themed installation at Salford Pets at Home to bring some joy to the store.

This year, our team member Steph crafted a beautiful display, with a striking white Christmas tree as the centerpiece. Unfortunately, it was stolen on Saturday.”
The post detailed how the theft unfolded, noting that security was alerted but the culprits managed to flee the scene before they could be apprehended.
Despite the setback, the charity vowed not to let this act of theft dampen their holiday spirit.
“It’s a sad state of affairs that someone would do this,” they wrote, “but we won’t let it ruin our Christmas spirit.”

The RSPCA also encouraged the community to rally behind them and show support to their team during this challenging time.
Their post suggested several ways people could help, including donating to their Christmas fundraiser at the store’s tills, sharing posts about animals available for adoption, shopping at their charity stores, or contributing directly online.
They also mentioned an upcoming Christmas raffle and encouraged the public to purchase tickets once it launches.
The theft has saddened both the staff and the community, but the RSPCA remains determined to keep the festive spirit alive while continuing their mission to help animals in need.
