A reckless driver faced immediate consequences after attempting a dangerous double overtake on a residential road, only to encounter an unmarked police car.

The incident unfolded as the motorist, trailing a moped and a car moving at a slow pace, decided to overtake both vehicles.

To execute the maneuver, the driver swerved around a traffic island, briefly veering into the oncoming lane.

Unbeknownst to them, the oncoming vehicle was an unmarked police car with flashing blue lights.

The officer quickly pulled over the driver and delivered a stern reprimand.

The close call occurred at 7:38 PM on Saturday, January 11, in Uxbridge, West London, and was shared on social media by witnesses, sparking a flurry of reactions.

One local described it as a “perfect example of bad timing,” while Daljit Singh Dhaliwal quipped, “More like the perfect time.”
