Road Rage Row Between Two Men in Busy Street Compared to EastEnders Scene

Two men erupted into a heated road rage altercation in the middle of a bustling street, with some comparing the chaotic scene to a dramatic moment straight out of EastEnders.

The confrontation, which unfolded on Old Ford Road in Bethnal Green, east London, on January 16, saw one of the men attempt to bring down his opponent with a martial arts-style leg sweep, all while a moped lay toppled in the middle of the road.

The incident, captured in a minute-and-a-half video by a bystander, shows the two men squaring up.

One was dressed in hi-vis trousers and a matching jacket, while the other wore dark clothing.

Both were seen gripping each other’s clothes as tensions boiled over, taking swings and exchanging shouts, including the challenge: “Come on then.”

Adding to the chaos, a white flatbed truck was parked in the road, creating further disruption as a white cab attempted to maneuver around it and the downed scooter, which also blocked the way.

Amid the commotion, bystanders stepped in to try and diffuse the escalating fight.

At one point, one of the men shouted repeatedly, “He spat on me,” as frustrations reached a peak.

The man in hi-vis then made a bold move, attempting to trip his rival by sweeping his legs out from under him—a moment that sparked a mix of shock and amusement online.

The video, shared widely on social media and reported by vknews24, ended abruptly, leaving viewers speculating on how the scuffle concluded.

Locals reacted to the dramatic footage with a mixture of disbelief and humor.

One observer commented, “Much better than using knives and machetes to sort out their argument,” praising the old-school nature of the fight.

Jordan James echoed the sentiment, describing the clash as “a good old-fashioned English scene.

Others joined in with light-hearted quips, with one noting, “Real life ‘EastEnders’ scenes,” and another adding, “Should’ve put his hips into that sweep.”

The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment on the incident.
