A stubborn swan caused quite the traffic disruption after wandering down a road near Brentford’s stadium, bringing vehicles to a crawl.
Drivers quickly noticed the large white bird waddling in the inside lane.
Two motorists, one in a grey BMW and another in a VW Golf, hit their brakes and turned on their hazard lights to warn others.

They slowed to about 5mph, forming a rolling roadblock to shield the bird from traffic.
On this six-lane, 40mph stretch of the Great West Road, also known as the A4, other drivers had no choice but to be patient as they carefully inched past the swan.
The road runs just a short distance from Brentford FC’s Gtech Community Stadium, which holds 17,250 fans.
The unusual event unfolded on the Brentford section of the A4, connecting the M4 to West London, on Sunday, October 7th.
A driver stuck in the opposite lane heading into the city captured the surreal moment on their phone, while stunned pedestrians looked on in disbelief.
The swan, oblivious to the chaos it caused, remained in the westbound carriageway.
The 47-second clip, shared by VKNews24, showed the swan stubbornly staying on the road, despite causing a backup of traffic.
The bird likely came from the nearby River Thames, which is less than half a mile away.
Onlookers couldn’t resist joking about the situation. One local quipped, “If I had wings and could fly for miles, I wouldn’t be waddling in the road.”
Another added humor with, “I’m surprised the swan hasn’t permanently migrated from this third-world country.”
