A woman in China had a claw clip embedded in her scalp after being hit by a car. Doctors removed it in 10 minutes, warning of the hidden dangers of hair accessories.

A woman in China had to undergo emergency medical treatment after a metal claw hair clip became embedded in her scalp following a traffic accident.
The victim, identified only as Ms. Du, was struck by a car while crossing the street, causing her to fall to the ground.
Although the 61-year-old did not suffer any life-threatening injuries, the impact of the fall caused her hair accessory to snap in half, with one section piercing her scalp.

Tian Fengming explained that three of the clip’s metal teeth had become lodged in her skin.
Despite experiencing pain, she remained conscious throughout the ordeal. Fortunately, the clip’s teeth were relatively short, preventing more severe damage.

However, Dr. Tian noted that had the clip penetrated her skull, neurosurgery might have been required to mitigate the risk of brain damage or internal bleeding.
After administering anesthesia, medical staff successfully removed the embedded clip in just over 10 minutes, according to vknews24.

Following the incident, Dr. Tian issued a warning about the potential dangers of claw clips, even those made of plastic.
He highlighted their positioning at the back of the head, near the brainstem, as a key risk factor.
He advised against wearing them while exercising, traveling, or engaging in any activity that involves sudden movements.
The accident took place in Chengdu, China, on Monday, February 3.
