‘Doomsday’ mom Lori Vallow insists she, husband Chad Daybell will be ‘exonerated’ in murder of her 2 kids: ‘Jesus showed me’

The Rise of the "Doomsday Mom": Lori Vallow’s Twisted Beliefs and Crimes
Lori Vallow, famously dubbed the "Doomsday Mom," has made headlines for her shocking involvement in a series of tragic events that led to the deaths of her two youngest children and her husband’s previous wife. In her first interview since being sentenced to life in prison, Vallow shared her unwavering belief that she and her husband, Chad Daybell, will be exonerated and freed from prison. This conviction, she claims, was revealed to her by Jesus during a vision she experienced while in heaven. Her remarks, made during a preview for an upcoming "Dateline" episode, underscore the delusional and apocalyptic beliefs that have defined her case.
A Vision of Freedom: Lori Vallow’s Claims of Divine Intervention
Vallow, dressed in an orange prison jumpsuit with her hands cuffed, spoke with a calm and unyielding certainty during the interview. She insisted, "We will both be exonerated in the future," referring to herself and Daybell. She described a vision from Jesus, where she saw a future where she and Daybell were not behind bars. This belief, she explained, was revealed to her during a divine experience in heaven. Her words reflect the same eccentric and religiously fueled reasoning that has been central to her defense since her arrest. Despite the overwhelming evidence against her, Vallow remains convinced that her eventual freedom is predestined.
The Truth According to Lori: A Web of Lies and Apocalyptic Fantasies
When "Dateline" correspondent Keith Morrison labeled her "the most hated mom in America," Vallow responded by promising to reveal the truth. However, her version of the truth has been anything but factual. Over the years, Vallow has spun a web of bizarre and fantastical explanations for the deaths of her children and others. She has claimed that she is a goddess tasked with ushering in the apocalypse and that her children were possessed by evil spirits, transforming them into "zombies." These outlandish claims, combined with her history of writing self-published apocalyptic novels, have earned her the nickname "Doomsday Mom."
The Dark Reality: Murder, Deception, and Betrayal
In stark contrast to Vallow’s delusional narrative, the facts of the case paint a grim and disturbing picture. In 2019, Vallow and Daybell orchestrated the murders of her two youngest children, Joshua "JJ" Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16, as well as Daybell’s wife, Tammy. The motives were as twisted as they were mercenary: the couple sought to eliminate obstacles to their marriage and to collect life insurance money. Just two weeks after Tammy’s death, Vallow and Daybell tied the knot. A year later, the bodies of Vallow’s children were discovered in Daybell’s yard, buried and dismembered in an attempt to cover up the crimes.
Lori Vallow’s Legal Battles and the upcoming Trial
While Lori Vallow has already been sentenced to life in prison for her role in the murders, her legal troubles are far from over. She is set to stand trial in Arizona in late March for conspiring to kill her former husband, Charles Vallow, who was shot to death in 2019 by her brother, Alex Cox. Cox, who has since died of natural causes, played a key role in the events leading up to the murders. Lori’s surviving son, Colby Ryan, has also spoken out about the trauma he has endured, describing how his mother’s actions have irrevocably changed his view of the world.
The Legacy of Betrayal: A Family Forever Scarred
Colby Ryan, Lori’s eldest son, has been left to grapple with the aftermath of his mother’s heinous actions. In the same "Dateline" episode, Ryan shared his pain and disillusionment, stating, "I always was a positive, see the best in people kind of person. And then I watched someone I knew my entire life do what she did, and it just changed the way I view people." His words capture the profound and lasting impact of Lori’s betrayal on those who loved her. As the legal proceedings continue and the truth about Lori’s crimes comes to light, the family she once claimed to love will continue to bear the scars of her twisted delusions.
