A man’s clumsy attempt to evade police took a painful turn when he accidentally slammed his own fingers in his car door, leaving onlookers cringing at the blunder.

Footage of the incident, believed to have been filmed in Colombia’s Caribbean region, shows the hapless driver arguing with two traffic officers.

As they confronted him, he climbed into his hatchback, only for one of the officers to hold the door open, preventing him from leaving.

Frustrated, he stepped back out and shoved the male officer, causing him to stumble slightly.

The female officer firmly warned him, saying, “You can’t take it. Stop pushing.” But the man was determined to get away.

He climbed back into the driver’s seat, placed his hand over the top of the door, and forcefully slammed it shut—only to trap his own fingers between the frame with an audible thud.

The camera then panned to reveal his hand firmly wedged in the door, and seconds passed as he struggled to free himself.

Onlookers winced at the painful mishap, which quickly went viral on social media after being shared on Sunday, March 2.

Local reports suggest the man may have been stopped for parking in a restricted area, but his impulsive reaction left him in a far worse predicament.

Social media users were quick to mock the bizarre turn of events.

One viewer joked, “Talk to my fingers, officer.”
