Girl, 4, unknowingly gives classmates cocaine
A 4-year-old girl unknowingly gave classmates cocaine, mistaking it for candy. Police link the case to a drug raid near Rio. Investigation still ongoing.

A four-year-old girl accidentally handed out dozens of packets of cocaine to her classmates, mistaking the illegal substance for a treat.
The incident took place at a school near the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and has sparked a full-blown police investigation into an apparent drug trafficking operation connected to her family.
According to local reports, the child distributed a total of 16 small packets among her peers, with her classmates believing the white powder was sherbet or another sweet.

The situation came to light when one of the children approached a teacher, complaining about the unpleasant taste of the substance she had been given.
Alarmed, the teacher checked the girl’s backpack and discovered six additional packets.
A further nine were found stashed underneath her chair. Out of the total, seven packets remained sealed while eight had been at least partially consumed, raising concerns that multiple children may have ingested the Class A drug.

When asked about the origin of the powder, the young girl said it had been given to her by her father.
In a bizarre turn of events, while school staff were contacting authorities, the father allegedly showed up unannounced, grabbed one of the packets from his daughter’s hand, and fled the premises.
He then called his brother and arranged for him to collect the girl from the school.
However, when the uncle arrived, he reportedly became hostile with child protection workers who were trying to assist the children involved.
Despite being warned not to remove the girl from the school grounds, he did so anyway and was subsequently arrested by police officers.

Lieutenant Adenilson de Oliveira Rocha of the Military Police confirmed that the substance had been sent off for testing, with lab results verifying it was indeed cocaine.
Eighteen children who may have come into contact with the drug were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Test results were mostly reassuring: two came back inconclusive, while the remaining children tested negative for cocaine exposure.
Later that evening, authorities launched a raid on a home near the school believed to be linked to the case.
During the operation, police uncovered a stash of 300 cocaine packets, reportedly identical in appearance to those found in the classroom.
Officers also seized six bags of marijuana and two mobile phones. A 21-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of drug trafficking.
According to police, the man admitted he sold the cocaine packets for approximately £4 each, or BRL 30.
His identity has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities have not clarified the connection between the arrested man and the girl’s family, but the investigation is still ongoing.
The case has sent shockwaves through the local community and raised urgent questions about the safety of children in environments where criminal activity may be taking place close to home.
