A tragic shooting in Colombia has claimed the lives of a mother, father, and their daughter, leaving their young son as the sole survivor in critical condition.
The attack occurred during a family lunch at a restaurant in the Villa Paraguay neighborhood of Aguachica, a town north of Bogotá, on Sunday, December 29.
Marlon Lora, his wife Yurlay Rincón, and their daughter Ángela were fatally shot at close range, while their son Santiago sustained life-threatening injuries.

According to local authorities, Santiago has been declared brain dead, marking an even more devastating turn for the family.
The gruesome incident has left the community in shock, with officials describing the family as “pillars of the community.”
The attack unfolded shortly after the family had attended a service at the Prince of Peace Church, where Marlon and Yurlay were respected religious leaders.
The church is located just a short distance from the restaurant, underscoring the brazen nature of the violence, which took place in broad daylight.
Greisy Roqueme, the mayor of Aguachica, condemned the act, calling it a harrowing example of the erosion of respect for life and human dignity.
In a statement, the mayor’s office reflected on the profound loss, saying, “The Lora Rincón family was a pillar of the community, and their loss leaves an irreparable void.”
The authorities have launched an investigation into the killings and are offering a reward for any information that could lead to the identification and capture of those responsible for the heinous crime.
