Man Ejected from Bus After Sewer Explosion Launches Manhole Cover

A shocking incident in Esenyurt, Istanbul Province, Turkey, saw a man fall from a moving bus after a sewer explosion propelled a manhole cover into the vehicle’s door.

Footage from the scene shows the victim standing near the bus door, engrossed in his phone, as the vehicle makes its way along a busy road.

Without warning, an explosion erupts from beneath the bus, forcefully swinging the door open.

The man is then seen tumbling onto the road, leaving passengers visibly stunned.

Emergency services quickly arrived to provide medical aid and transported the injured man to a nearby hospital.

Fortunately, reports indicate that his condition is not life-threatening.

Authorities have confirmed that the bizarre accident was triggered by a sewer blast, which launched the heavy manhole cover with enough force to strike the bus.

The incident caused significant disruption along the Saadetdere-to-Beylikdüzü route on December 3, with multiple bus services halted for several hours before operations returned to normal.

Police have since called in the bus driver for questioning as part of an ongoing investigation. At this stage, the exact cause of the sewer explosion remains unknown.
