Model Arrested After Leaving Celebrity Big Brother House Over Watch Heist

Aleska Génesis, a Venezuelan runway model and social media personality, was arrested just minutes after being eliminated from the reality show La Casa de los Famosos All Stars, the Spanish-language version of Celebrity Big Brother.

Authorities were waiting for the 33-year-old as she exited the set, escorting her to a vehicle before transferring her to a women’s prison in Mexico City on Sunday, March 10. She appeared visibly distressed as she was taken into custody.

Mexican prosecutors allege that Génesis was involved in a “gang-related theft” of luxury watches, a case that has followed her for over a year.

This isn’t the first time she has been detained in connection with the crime. In January 2023, she was stopped at Mexico City International Airport after arriving from Miami, Florida, when her name triggered an alert with immigration authorities.

The model, along with two other women, was accused of stealing three high-end watches from a property in Mexico City in October 2022.

The stolen timepieces, worth over 10 million MXN (approximately £380,511), reportedly belonged to Francisco Javier Rodríguez Borgio, a wealthy businessman known for his casino empire.

The case took a new turn earlier this year when, in January 2024, a contact of Borgio allegedly informed him that Génesis had attempted to sell the stolen watches in Miami. According to reports, she eventually sold them to a jewelry store in the city.

However, when she was initially detained last year, she only spent a few hours in custody before being released due to a lack of evidence.

Génesis was aware of an active arrest warrant before joining La Casa de los Famosos All Stars and had secured legal protection against detention.

However, once she was eliminated from the show, that safeguard was no longer valid, making her immediate arrest possible.

On Monday, she indirectly addressed the situation through an Instagram Story shared with her 8.1 million followers.

The post, originally shared by fellow Venezuelan model Michell Roxana, claimed: “Today, I’m revealing the truth: There is no crime, no real evidence against us; just lies fabricated by Francisco Javier Rodríguez Borgio.

There’s clear evidence that this is all a set-up by Borgio to harm and tarnish our image.”

Génesis, originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, has built a high-profile career, appearing in music videos for top Latin artists such as Anuel and Sebastián Yatra.

Her personal life has also kept her in the headlines, including past links to football star James Rodríguez, though both denied any romantic involvement.

In a bizarre twist, she was once accused of using black magic on reggaeton star Nicky Jam following their breakup, a rumor that sparked controversy online.

As she remains in custody, it remains to be seen whether authorities will move forward with formal charges or if the case will once again collapse due to insufficient evidence.
