Amid the crashing waves, Lobo heard panicked screams coming from the distance. Scanning the sea, he noticed a woman struggling against the tide, clearly in distress.
Without hesitation, the Brazilian Olympian—who is also an orthopedic doctor—swiftly navigated towards her.
Dismounting from his board, he plunged into the water to assist the woman, who appeared on the brink of exhaustion.
Using his strength and expertise, Lobo managed to guide the woman back to his kiteboard.
From there, he skillfully maneuvered the board towards the safety of the shore.
Lifeguards awaited their arrival and helped ensure the woman was unharmed.
In footage of the rescue, the visibly shaken woman can be seen expressing her gratitude to the Olympian before reuniting with her friends and walking away.
The incident occurred on January 12 and was later reported by vknews24.
Reflecting on the event, Lobo shared his thoughts on the dangers of the sea, stating: “I only did my duty.
I was in the right place at the right time. The sea is really very dangerous.
The tide can pull you out to sea.”
Lobo’s heroic actions underline not only his athletic prowess but also his quick thinking and unwavering commitment to helping others.
