A tragic plane crash in Ubatuba, Brazil, claimed the life of its pilot while sparing the four passengers on board in what many are calling a miracle.
The light aircraft, a Cessna CitationJet Model 525, overshot the runway during its landing yesterday morning (January 9), skidded onto a busy road, narrowly missing passing vehicles, and burst into flames before breaking apart and plunging into the sea.
Dramatic footage captured the horrifying sequence of events, showing thick black smoke billowing into the air as the plane erupted.

Amid the wreckage, another video revealed a remarkable moment: a young child being rescued alive from the overturned fuselage.
The passengers—41-year-old Mireylle Fries, her husband Bruno Almeida Souza, 48, and their two children, aged six and four—were all pulled from the fiery scene and are reportedly in stable condition.
A bystander on the beach suffered a fractured bone in the chaos and received medical treatment.
Sadly, the plane’s pilot, Paulo Seghetto, did not survive.
After being extricated from the wreckage in cardiac arrest, Seghetto passed away despite resuscitation attempts.
Known as a skilled and experienced aviator, Seghetto had been flying professionally since 1997.
Fellow pilot Dado Santa Fé described him as highly knowledgeable, safety-conscious, and deeply respected within the aviation community.
Seghetto, a family man aged 55, will be laid to rest today (January 10) in his hometown of Ribeirão Preto.
The crash has prompted an ongoing investigation into its causes.
Preliminary assessments suggest that the runway at Ubatuba Airport may have been too short to safely accommodate the jet, which reportedly landed farther down the tarmac than intended.
Marcel Moure, CEO of Rede VOA, the company managing the airport, noted that jets rarely land there, calling such occurrences “very rare.”
Weather conditions at the time also appear to have played a role, with dense fog over the nearby mountains and a wet runway potentially complicating the landing.
The Cessna CitationJet, owned by the Fries family, was part of their agricultural business operations.
The survivors were initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to an intensive care unit in Caraguatatuba later that day.
The loss of Seghetto has left a void in Brazil’s aviation community, with many mourning his death as a profound tragedy.
The incident stands as a sobering reminder of the unpredictable dangers of flight, even for seasoned professionals.
