A pitbull leaped from a car window in Taipei, attacking a motorcyclist in a shocking repeat incident. Authorities are investigating how the dog escaped—twice.

A terrifying incident unfolded on the streets of Taipei, Taiwan, when a pitbull suddenly leaped out of a car window and launched a vicious attack on a motorcyclist.

The 43-year-old victim was among a group of riders when the unexpected assault took place.

CCTV footage captured the harrowing moment as the man waited with two other bikers beside a black 4×4.

Without warning, the pitbull sprang from the vehicle and charged straight toward him.

In a panic, the motorcyclist attempted to evade the animal by jumping off his bike, but the dog first latched onto the seat before turning its attention to the man, sinking its teeth into his lower leg.

The force of the attack sent the victim crashing to the ground, where the aggressive dog continued its assault.

Another motorcyclist nearby watched in shock, carefully maneuvering to avoid being targeted.

The dog’s owner, who had been inside the 4×4, rushed out upon seeing the chaos and struggled to pry the animal away from the fallen rider.

After a tense struggle, he finally managed to restrain the pitbull and return it to the backseat of the vehicle.

The injured motorcyclist remained on the ground following the attack, which occurred at 8:35 a.m. on March 17.

Emergency responders later transported him to a hospital for medical treatment, while authorities were notified of the incident.

Disturbingly, this was not the first time the same pitbull had attacked a motorcyclist in a nearly identical manner.

Just weeks earlier, on March 6, a 60-year-old man in Taipei was sitting on his motorcycle at a red light when the dog leaped from the same vehicle and launched into an aggressive assault.

Dashcam footage from another vehicle showed the pitbull violently knocking the man to the ground.

Following the first attack, police were called to the scene, and the dog’s owner expressed shock that it had managed to escape through the car window.

It remains unclear how the pitbull freed itself on both occasions, but one possibility being investigated is that the animal accidentally pressed the window control button.

Local authorities and animal welfare officials are now looking into the case to determine the necessary course of action.
