Police release more details on murder of InfoWars reporter Jamie White as search for suspects continues

The investigation into the death of InfoWars reporter Jamie White continued on Tuesday, March 12, 2025, as the Austin Police Department (APD) revealed that the 36-year-old journalist likely lost his life during a burglary. The tragic incident occurred in the late hours of Saturday, March 9, when authorities responded to a shooting call in South Austin around 11:56 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found White lying on the ground in the parking lot of his apartment complex with visible injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:19 a.m. on March 10, 2025.
The APD stated that the initial investigation indicates White was shot and killed in the parking lot of his residence. The suspects fled the scene, and detectives believe the incident occurred when White interrupted individuals who were burglarizing his vehicle. The case is being handled by Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists, who are working to process the scene and interview witnesses. As the investigation unfolds, the police are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact them at 512-974-TIPS.
Jamie White was a dedicated journalist known for his passion for his work. A friend, Yecca Aaron, described him as someone who stood up for what he believed in and was deeply committed to his career. “His work was his life,” Aaron said, recalling how White often stayed late at work and took pride in his well-written articles. She expressed the shock and pain of his sudden death, stating, “It’s crazy that he’s gone just like that. I keep going back and forth between feelings of anger and sadness.” Aaron emphasized that she does not believe White was targeted because of his job, but rather because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The apartment complex where White lived had a history of crime, with 57 incidents reported in 2024, including vehicle thefts, aggravated assaults, and at least one burglary. This troubling trend has raised concerns about safety in the area. FOX 7 Austin reported that White had just arrived home after a late night at work when the tragedy occurred. His friend described the timing as “crazy,” underscoring the senseless nature of his death. The loss of Jamie White has left his colleagues, friends, and fans in shock, as they remember his dedication to his craft and his unwavering commitment to speaking his truths.
In a statement, InfoWars blamed White’s death on what they described as “the policies of the Soros Austin, TX D.A. Jose Garza.” The outlet expressed their determination to ensure that White’s death would not be in vain, vowing to continue his work and seek justice for his senseless murder. InfoWars also praised White’s contributions to their platform, highlighting his importance to their mission and their readers. The statement reflected the organization’s resolve to honor his legacy while calling for accountability for the perpetrators.
As the investigation continues, the Austin Police Department is working diligently to piece together the events surrounding White’s death. The community is urged to come forward with any information that could aid in the case, as authorities aim to bring those responsible to justice. The tragic loss of Jamie White has sparked an outpouring of support from those who admired his work and a renewed focus on addressing crime in the area. His dedication to journalism and his commitment to standing up for what he believed in will be remembered by all who knew him.
